Patient: Mike Hughes (lower back/disc)
Practitioner: Ed Madeley
Situation before 1st visit: Surgery was the next step
Prior money spent: 2 other practitioners & accessories = £1,700
Overview
Mike Hughes first phoned up just before Christmas, I got the impression he was giving up. He had already thought about dates for surgery on a ‘disc’ issue that had shown up on an MRI scan.
To Mike’s surprise I told him scans don’t show the full picture, and the pain he was reporting was probably muscular. Mike was understandably sceptical considering the level of pain he was in, but to Mike’s credit he went with it. It was slow progress, but we got there thankfully.
Patient's review
If there is anyone reading this review who has either had a pain or issue that has seriously neglected their quality of life, or have a long-standing issue that they can’t seem to shake off, I would say ring these guys immediately.
Patient: Simon Passmore (knee)
Practitioner: Nathan Squire
Amount of time in pain: 12 months
Prior money spent: Physiotherapy & Cryotherapy = £250
Overview
When Simon came to the clinic for our first session, it was clear he’d already felt quite defeated by his knee pain. It was affecting his work and home/social life. He’d received messages from people that the issue likely would not improve, and so our clinic felt like the last chance.
After our first session, Simon was very sceptical of our treatment plan, as it seemed far too optimistic from what he had been told previously, but he had already had some relief immediately after our first session, and progress came rapidly in the weeks following. And after a couple of months, with only a handful of sessions Simon felt like he had control of his life back, and most importantly hope.
Since then Simon has had over a year with minimal knee issues, and has been back to doing his job as normal, and getting back to activities such as hiking which he’d been missing dearly.
Patient's review
Came to the clinic a year after tearing a ligament in my knee, and having seen multiple physios over 12 months this was going to be my last attempt before resigning myself to just regularly wearing a brace and never running again.
2 months after my first session with Nat, I’m going for short runs, I’ve hiked up several hills and haven’t worn my brace for weeks.
Patient: Stephanie Shephard (lower back)
Practitioner: Ed Madeley
Amount of time in pain: 20 years
Prior money spent: £2000
Overview
When Steph initially came in she had told me of her 20 year history with her back pain. She’d seen numerous therapists and even a spinal surgeon. I got the impression Steph had given up hope, with very little expectation of finding a cure.
Luckily the assessment showed me that Steph’s pain was coming from the joint that unifies the back and the leg, which was good news for the prognosis.
Amazingly Steph went from 20 years of constant back pain to pain free within 2 months with treatment from myself and Mary, and she has thankfully stayed pain-free since.
Patient's review
I had almost made my peace with a life in pain. I know how to manage the imbalance and have had limited or no pain!
The Movement and Wellbeing team has a fountain of knowledge, experts in their craft and I cannot recommend them enough!
Patient: Alex Chambers (lower back, hamstring)
Practitioner: Ed Madeley
Amount of time in pain: 12+ years
Amount of visits to other practitioners: 40+
Overview
When Alex came in initially I could tell he was fed up with being in pain, 12 years is long enough for anyone, particularly if your job is as physical as being a personal trainer.
We thankfully managed to get a good response using a different diagnosis on the first session, which seemed to encourage myself and Alex. It turned out we only needed 10 sessions to get Alex pain-free – neither of us would have believed that at the start!
Patient's review
I’ve been suffering with nerve trouble for more than 12 years, it was so excruciating I couldn’t walk.
I went to the Doctors who ran loads of tests, in the end they refused to diagnose me and gave me 200 Paracetamol.
I’ve also been to Chiropractors and Physiotherapists – none of it helped.
I was 100% sceptical because I spent £100’s on other treatment and got nothing out of it. I’m 100% pain-free now and mega happy!
Patient: Chloe Lennox (hip/lower back)
Practitioner: Ed Madeley
Amount of time in pain: 16 years
Number of previous practitioners: £25+
Overview
When Chloe first arrived she came in with a different issue all together, I got the impression she had given up on her hip/lower back issue. I mentioned there may be something else we could do, and thankfully Chloe was open to trying it. After only a handful of sessions her pain was noticeably different, and I’m very pleased to say the improvements have lasted. I know how much trouble she had dealing with it, and I am over the moon she is now pain free.
Patient's review
Whenever I had a physical issue or ailment now, I go to Ed & the team rather than the GPs. Their treatment and level is service is fantastic and I recommend them to anyone I talk to about wanting to improve niggles or injuries.
’ve now got my movement back to pretty much where it used to be prior to my back injury and I’m no longer on Amitriptyline! With Ed & Paula’s help I’ve managed to get my active lifestyle back and what’s even better is it’s drug free!
